You know, when I stuck my neck out several years ago and said, based primarily on the "smell test," that the theory of anthropogenic global warming was full of hot air, I caught a lot of flack. I still do, but it's diminishing.
That flack is diminishing because the nails upon which believers in this religion can hang their faith become fewer and fewer, almost on a weekly basis.
When the socialists first came up with this scheme to emasculate America and other Western industrialized nations, there was little science to support this fantasy. Of course, the objection was, "Well, by the time the science gets behind it, it'll be to late! WE MUST ACT NOW!!!"
But as we see the actual science starting to roll in....well, man-made global warming is, on a weekly basis, being revealed for the sham and the scam I always knew it to be.More...
The list of its defeats is long. The famous hockey stick was found to be full of hockey. Then the very real question arose of whether heat precedes CO2 buildup or whether CO2 buildup precedes heat. Then we found that NASA had been wrong on some very critical temperature data...and the hottest year on record was actually back in the 1930s. Then we found out that there have been cyclic climate changes going back thousands of years. Then we found out that other planets (where there are no SUVs) such as Mars and Jupiter are warming (but while they may be affected by the sun, no, here on Earth it must be man-made). And that is only a partial list of the eggs now all over the face of Al Gore and any of his disciples.
In the latest nail in the coffin of this lunacy, we learn from the Daily Tech that, despite hysteria last year that all the ice at the North Pole was going to melt, the level of ice ended up at 1979 levels.
Why were predictions so wrong? Researchers had expected the newer sea ice, which is thinner, to be less resilient and melt easier. Instead, the thinner ice had less snow cover to insulate it from the bitterly cold air, and therefore grew much faster than expected, according to the National Snow and Ice Data Center.
In May, concerns over disappearing sea ice led the U.S. to officially list the polar bear a threatened species, over objections from experts who claimed the animal's numbers were increasing.
Will the juveniles in the U.S. Congress now admit they were wrong and take the polar bears off the endangered species list? Will they admit Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was right about the polar bears?
I'm not holding my breath for either of those developments, but it's becoming embarrassingly obvious to anyone who isn't ideologically or religiously invested in the theory of anthropogenic global warming that this whole bubble of hot air was nothing more than science fiction.
But there are many acolytes of this religion in Washington D.C., and they are true believers. Congress is full of them, and the White House will soon be home to a high priest of this religion.
Americans must speak out NOW and speak out loudly to prevent our nation from being economically crippled and laid prostrate in the name of a socialist fantasy that science is continually proving to be a fraud.
