Wall Street Journal Eyeballing Dodd's Promise
















In case you missed it, I wanted to mention that the Wall Street Journal made it clear that it hasn't forgotten Sen. Chris Dodd's now-venerable promise to release documents pertaining to his 2003 mortgages with Countrywide. This newsprint icon of commerce reminded its readers yesterday that Dodd had "promised the Connecticut press" -- namely, me -- that he'd come clean on his relationship with the mortgage firm, with which he's been accused of participating in a VIP program that gave him a favorable deal.

Dodd, who still chairs the Senate banking committee, hasn't yet produced any documents, citing an ongoing Senate ethics investigation as his reason for withholding them.
